DAC: Freight’s intelligent transformation
Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC) technology offers a solution to enhance the transport of people and goods by train, enabling faster, more efficient, and more sustainable operations. The EU-funded DACFIT project supports the European DAC delivery programme (EDDP) in deploying and integrating DAC into rail systems across Europe, acknowledging its potential contributions to the EU Green Deal. To achieve this, DACFIT is leveraging the expertise of various specialists to provide insights and refine implementation plans throughout the DAC migration roadmap, ensuring a smooth, efficient transition to sustainable, digitalised, and automated rail freight.
